Maybe the Best Prank Ever

Did you hear about this stunt that a woman in NYC pulled?

Natasha Aponte “Tinder pranked” a group men in Union Square, summoning them all with a right swipe, telling them to meet her at the landmark for a date.

The problem, the men would realize as soon as they arrived, was that she did the same thing for hundreds of other dudes.

Then she proceeded to get really specific to whittle down the group, presumably, in search of her match:

“Half of you people here are in relationships, so those people should leave now,” she started.

Then:

“The first elimination is if you think you can support Trump and date a Puerto Rican, now’s the time to leave. If anyone’s a tourist or doesn’t live in this country, you should leave too.”

And then, some more preferences!

“Also anyone named Jimmy. I don’t enjoy the name Jimmy.”

Ha! (Also, sorry Jimmys.)

Apparently beer bellies, long beards, and who wear Toms shoes or khakis also had to say buh-bye.

While we are waiting to hear the real meaning behind this stunt, may I– and all the parts of me that were ever subjected to countless snap judgments from men who decided to tell me how desirable I was, based on ten seconds of an impression–say to this woman and her team?…

Bravo.

What do you think of this social experiment? What purpose do you think it serves? I’d love to hear your thoughts in Comments below!
