If we’ve been friends here a while, then you probably know a little about my backstory.
If you’re new (first, hello!), then here’s the primer: I worked in television for 15 years, 13 of those in news, and I decided to leave the industry almost exactly a year ago.
Wow, has this past year flown. This blog is where I landed after I left TV, and I started it for several reasons. Writing has always been my first passion, and I believe so, so much in the power of storytelling, and story-sharing. And over the past year since I’ve launched this blog, I’ve learned so much not only about how to manage a digital space, but also about my own voice, the power of storytelling, and the beautiful community that can crop up when you share your own stories and experiences.
Suffice it to say I like it here, in this new space, a lot. And I can’t wait to see what’s next. 🙂
In the meantime, here’s a chat with a television news industry friend of mine, who runs his own (much more trafficked and professional) site www.ftvlive.com, and it was super fun sharing some wacky stories about the TV news business and where that wonderful job took me! There may or may not be a story involved about the strangest viewer voicemail I ever got.
Enjoy, and see you soon with more, friends!
