4 Workout Pieces I’m Obsessing Over
Can we have a candid chat about workout clothing?
The whole leggings trend: It’s been around a while, right? And while it’s tremendously popular, it’s not always tremendously well-executed. That is to say, the proportions have to be right. You can’t have things hitting in the wrong places with this kind of clothing, because there are waaaaaay too many things that can come poking out that just don’t need to be falling out in the middle of your yoga/barre/Jazzercize/whatevs class.
That’s why I have some simple requirements when it comes to my workout gear. With leggings:
Number one: They must be high-waisted or mid rise. (We can agree that the hip-hanging pants days a la Britney are over, right?)
And Number two: They must be are made of the softest possible fabric that is also magically strong enough to hold things in the proper place.
And for tops? Just simple and soft will do, thanks.
On those notes, here are four pieces I’m living in lately!
1 – This Body Language muscle tank in gray hits the perfect spot on your hips, the fabric is like butter, and overall, well, I just love it. You can even do that cute little knot thing that the model in the picture does (I don’t). But, yeah. Perfect gray muscle tank!
2 – This is another shirt that has all the right dimensions. Roomy where it has to be, hits the right spot, and open in the back but not in an obnoxious way.
3 – I wore these yoga pants literally throughout my entire third pregnancy, from the moment I found out I was expecting, to the month before I delivered. Toward the final months, I just pulled the wide waistband down below my bump. The fabric is so stretchy and buttery that you will want to live in them. Sonni Hall of Fame item right here.
4 – These palm leggings are high waisted and are some of the most comfortable pants I’ve worn in a while. (This is saying something, coming from a woman who has spent the better part of the past five years in some sort of stretchy pants.)
Excuse me now while I go wash all of the above items so that I can wear them every day for the next two months.
